Experience Matters
Born and raised in Auglaize County, Kristina Morris represents the values, work ethic, and sense of fairness that define this community. Her roots here span generations, shaping a lifelong commitment to public service, accountability, and a profound respect for the rule of law.
A Legacy of Local Service
Kristina’s family history reflects a deep connection to the county and a tradition of service. From a great-grandfather who contributed to the early electrical development in Minster to a grandfather who served as a deputy with the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office for over five decades—including 52 county fairs—the importance of community protection was instilled early on. With a father who dedicated 42 years to Crown in New Bremen and a mother who served patients for 43 years at JTDMH Hospital in St. Marys, Kristina learned that experience is earned through diligence and integrity.
From the Classroom to the Courtroom
After graduating from New Bremen High School in 1998, Kristina earned a degree and teaching certification from the University of Cincinnati. Beginning her professional career as an elementary school teacher, she developed firsthand experience working with children and families at formative stages. When a school levy failure led to a reduction in force, she turned that challenge into an opportunity for greater service.
Kristina attended the University of Dayton School of Law with a clear purpose: to advocate for families navigating their most difficult moments. She understood early on that in family law, where consequences are lasting, specialized experience is vital.
Proven Judicial Foundations
During law school, Kristina served as an extern for a United States Federal Magistrate Judge and later spent two years as a judicial law clerk for a Montgomery County Juvenile Court Judge. In that role, she drafted decisions in permanent custody cases and gained invaluable insight into judicial decision-making and courtroom management before ever stepping onto the bench.
Following her clerkship, Kristina built over twelve years of experience in private practice as a family law attorney, handling complex divorce, custody, estate planning, and probate matters. She also served as a court-appointed mediator, helping families resolve disputes thoughtfully and efficiently.
Protecting Families and the Community
Kristina’s commitment to public service continued as an Assistant Prosecutor for Shelby County, where she prosecuted Child Protective Services and juvenile delinquency cases. This work required sound judgment, careful application of the law, and compassion for vulnerable families.
Currently in her seventh year as a Magistrate for the Shelby County Common Pleas Court, Domestic Relations Division, Kristina has worked under two Republican Judges. She presides over contested trials, manages complex dockets, and issues well-reasoned decisions grounded in Ohio law. Her judicial philosophy is centered on fairness, preparation, and respect for all parties.
“Family and community mean everything to me. I’ve spent years as a magistrate, in the courtroom, helping families through some of their hardest moments, and now I want to bring that experience home to Auglaize County to serve our county as judge. As a judge, I will honor the values that make our community strong and ensure that our court is a place where fairness and family come first. Auglaize County needs a judge who understands both the law and the people it serves.”
— Kristina Morris
Leading the Judiciary
Beyond the courtroom, Kristina serves as the Third District Appellate Representative, representing magistrates across 17 Ohio counties. She also assists the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College with education planning and regularly serves as faculty for continuing legal education programs statewide.
With deep local roots, extensive courtroom experience, and a career devoted to the fair administration of justice, Kristina Morris brings the knowledge, temperament, and integrity required of a judge. She is committed to applying the law impartially and ensuring the court remains a place where justice is both done and understood.
